about me

Suthies is a ‘hobby’which I attempt to balance alongside caring for my husband John, who suffers from a chronic pain condition.  I am a proud mum of two grown-up daughters.

We love the countryside and have lived in a small Perthshire village for over 20 years. Our old stone cottage has a very welcoming open fire, lots of books, and a kitchen with a kettle that is always on for a brew. It’s also fairly untidy but we think that adds to its welcome charm 😉

Suthies started in 2013 after a long spell of depression and it provides me a space to relax and write, and create and make (some of my projects you can buy in my shop).  I love things made out of natural materials and I hate throwing things away! My family are embarrassed by my interest in the contents of any village skips and some of my upcycling ideas! You can decide for yourself!
